Magical Places to Stay
There are many places to stay at Walt Disney World. They are most commonly referred to as “On Property”. Disney has a room to fit everyone’s budget. Here we listed the names of all the Disney World resorts and our favorite ones in each category. You can click on the resort for more information.
Value:
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
Our favorite: Art of Animation. While a lot of people love the Little Mermaid rooms, we are partial to the Lion King or Cars Suites! Each suite is themed perfectly and has one bedroom with a queen bed and another room with a pullout couch and a table that converts to a bed! And the best part…two bathrooms!
Moderate:
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
Our favorite: Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside. Beautiful grounds! Relaxing resort. Choose rooms in the alligator bayou section which is more rustic and have rooms that can accommodate up to five people. Or request a room in the “Mansion Section” with a river view. They also have the royal guest rooms. This is an easy resort to walk around. And has boat transportation to Disney Springs.
Deluxe:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Disney’s Board Walk Inn
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
Our favorite: While it’s great to stay near magic kingdom, we are partial to Animal Kingdom Lodge. The minute you walk into the lobby you feel like you are transported to an African county. If your budget allows pay extra for a Savanna room. There is nothing better than walking out on your balcony in the morning and having coffee or tea with a giraffe!
Deluxe Villas:
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
Disney’s Beach Club Villas
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Our favorite: This is a toss up for us. We love Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village because each 1 bedroom villa features two bathrooms! That’s a great benefit in the morning when the whole family is getting ready for the day. But we also have to give a big cheer to Old Key West Resort. Since this is the oldest of the villas they have the biggest rooms! In a one bedroom villa there is a full kitchen but just one bathroom, it is sorta split by having two sinks in different rooms. And of course we love the jetted tub after a long day on our feet at the parks!
So why should you stay at a Walt Disney Resort? Simple because of the extras you receive for free including:
- Disney’s Magical Express. One of our favorite reasons to stay on property! Because it’s free transportation and luggage transfer to and from Orlando International Airport! Never have to worry about renting a car.
- Free Disney transportation to and from the theme parks and Disney Springs on buses, boats and monorails.
- Advanced dining reservations starting 180 days before check in. A great perk to snag one of those hard to get reservations like Cinderella’s Table and Be our Guest.
- Fast passes can be made 60 days before check in
- Free wifi
- Complimentary magic bands. These bands are your key to your room, have your park tickets attached and if you want can be used to charge to your room during your trip.
